This is a very easy
diabetic friendly recipe for a scrumptious steak with a mustard marinade
Recipe Ingredients
¾ pounds sirloin steak
2 tblsp water
2 tblsp red wine vinegar
2 tsp cooking oil
2 tsp Dijon-style mustard
½ tsp onion salt
½ tsp crushed dried thyme
To Make Mustard Marinade
In a small bowl combine the water, vinegar, oil, mustard, onion salt ,and thyme.
For the Steak
Remove fat from sirloin where possible
Cut steak 1" thick, or obtain already cut from your butcher
Place meat in a plastic bag placed in a bowl.
Pour mustard marinade over steaks. Close bag. Marinate the sirloin in the refrigerator for 4 to 24 hours turning occasionally
Drain meat, reserving marinade.
Place sirloin steaks on the unheated rack of a broiler pan.
Broil 3" from the heat for 10 to17 minutes to medium donenesss, turning once and brushing occasionally with reserved marinade.
Transfer meat to a serving platter.
Slice thinly across the grain.
This mustard marinated sirloin steak is delicious served over rice
