2 1/2 cup confectioners sugar.
A ¼ cup softened butter or margarine
1 tablespoon milk
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
16 ounces of Marichino Cherries(with stems well drained)
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips.
2 tablespoons shortening.
METHOD
Combine the sugar, butter, milk and extract in a mixing bowl..
mix well, and knead into a large bowl.
Roll into 1 inch balls and flatten each into 2 inch circles.
Wrap the circles around the cherries.
Lightly role in the hands.
Place with stem up on wax paper lined baking Sheets.
Cover loosely and refrigerate for four hours or overnight.
Melt the chocolate chips and shortening in the top of a double boiler or microwave safe bowl.
Holding by the stem, dip cherries in to the chocolate
set on wax paper to harden.
Store in a covered container.
